🐑 Sheep and aromatics self-selection 🌱
Hi, on our farm we have sheep and I have started offering them aromatics 🐑🌱
Would love to share experiences with other sheep carers.
As we had a lot snow they have to stay inside since we can not protect them from wolfs with electric fence. Yesterday I offered them a bucket of water with peppermint hydrosol (they also had bucket with only water). They spend almost all year on different pastures where they can select their medicinal plants daily and peppermint also grows there. Was lovely to see they left half bucket of fresh water and cleared all the hydrosol mix 🥰

Yes, the mood is so much better, they are calmer, I have spotted just two of them knocking their heads when is feeding time, other eat nicely more pushing around. Will see if they need some other aromatic 🙃

My friend has sheep who live with her horses, they now come running when they see me with herbs oils and powders. My friend now regularly lets them join in with the horses self selection.
