Manuka essential oil

Manuka is the flavour of the month at my place! This is one of those oils that I forget about for a while, and then suddenly seem to use all the time. It has a slightly off-putting fragrance in my opinion, but it is a wonderfully effective oil.

It is antiseptic, bactericidal and anti-fungal and can be used instead of Tea tree for wound care – it is sometimes known as New Zealand tea tree. However, it really excels in cases of Excess Damp, which can manifest as growths and swellings, such as sarcoids and sarcoma, or Damp heat, which manifests as fungal skin infections like hot spots or mud fever.

It works well with German Chamomile (Matricaria recutita) and/or lavender (Lavandula officinalis) for fungal infections, or with bergamot (citrus bergamia) and carrot seed (Daucus carota) for sarcoids. For more on manuka go here.
